Behind the Scenes

Now that you’ve read all about us, let’s be real. Those “official bios” never really capture the real essence of someone. If you’re going to hire us, you probably want to know what we’re actually like. So, we flipped things around and gave each of our founding partners a chance to describe each other in their own words. Settle in and get to know us a little better.

WHAT JODI SAYS ABOUT …

Andy Haning-Brown

How would you describe Andy?

Wickedly smart, hilarious, inspiring, honest, and totally genuine.

Why would you hire him?

Andy has a pretty amazing combination of street smarts and emotional intelligence. He’s able to get to the real root causes of complex issues, which makes him a great problem-solver. He’s thoughtful in how he approaches a problem, which provides some really nuanced recommendations. And above all, he’s a relationship builder, which immediately creates a sense of trust with team members.

What is his REAL title, if we weren’t being fancy?

Chief Sarcasm Officer.

What’s Andy’s hidden superpower?

His analogies are legendary. He can turn literally anything into an analogy. At this point, I just giggle every time he starts with “well, it’s kind of like a …”

I know what’s coming, and it delights me every time.

What is Andy passionate about (in the workplace)?

He cares deeply about effective communication, especially in periods of transition and uncertainty. And he believes that all effective leadership starts with the ability to clearly and concisely communicate your vision.

What is Andy is passionate about (outside of work)?

He is passionate about the notion of ‘home’. Not only is his home beautiful and welcoming, he loves amazing old houses. We joke that if consulting doesn’t work out, we’ll go flip a house together.

What’s one skill of his you wish you had?

He is remarkably articulate in front of a team, even with zero advance warning; his presentation style is just so warm and authentic. He sounds totally prepared, even when he has no idea what he’s talking about (inserts jealous eye roll here).

What’s something about him that drives you nuts?

His inbox is a disaster. How he manages to get through the work day, I’ll never know.

If Andy wasn’t a consultant, what job would he choose?

Houseplant guru. He can make ANYTHING grow. (It’s a thing. Look it up.)

What else should people know about Andy?

You will never meet a warmer, more caring person. I’m blessed to work with him every day and thankful that he’s not only my business partner, but also one of my dearest friends.

WHAT ANDY SAYS ABOUT …

Jodi Rhone

How would you describe Jodi?

Organized, articulate, incredibly intelligent, warm, and down-to-earth.

Why would you hire her?

I leave nearly every conversation with Jodi a little bit smarter than I was when it began. Jodi is incredibly insightful, and sees solutions where others are overwhelmed by problems. Jodi truly listens to understand. She gets at the root cause of a problem. And she’s great at challenging you to reflect on your role in a situation to trigger growth. She’ll be your trusted adviser within a few hours of meeting!

What is her REAL title, if we weren’t being fancy?

The Boss.

What’s Jodi’s hidden superpower?

She can take an incredibly complex concept and communicate it in a way your kid, your grandma, you and I can all understand!

What is Jodi passionate about (in the workplace)?

Having a plan to be successful vs. just letting things happen. Jodi believes in creating a plan and working the plan - being purposeful. Oh, there’s a hiccup? Evaluate what happened, adjust the plan and move forward.

What is Jodi passionate about (outside of work)?

Interior design. Jodi has a good eye for what will work when decorating a home and can work in a variety of styles. She’s created a wonderful space for herself and her family. And it’s always company-ready which I’m extremely jealous of!

What’s one skill of hers you wish you had?

Just one?!? Her tenacity. I’ve watched Jodi face some challenging situations, and she’s not one to give up in the face of a few roadblocks. She’s got a lot of “stick-with-it” and an ability to find common ground where it appears there is none to move things forward.

What’s something about her that drives you nuts?

Her odd frugality when it comes to air conditioning. How she isn’t constantly “glistening” is beyond me.

If Jodi wasn’t a consultant, what job would she choose?

Professional organizer. Jodi is deeply skilled in creating order out of chaos. And it doesn’t matter if that chaos is in your workplace or your sock drawer. She’ll find a solution that fits you and will be truly delighted to watch you succeed with it. It’s incredible to watch her in action.

What else should people know about Jodi?

Jodi is an amazing, giving person. She manages to balance a career helping businesses and leaders grow, volunteer work in her church and community, spending quality time with her family and friends, and carving out time to take care of herself. She’s been a dear friend and a mentor to me for over fifteen years.
